About the Project
Rumbaugh Creek bridge was part of the old Pagosa Springs waterworks facility and is an historic structure. The stone arch and foundation stones were loosening and falling due to erosion over time and was in need of preservation work. The Town of Pagosa Springs (TOPS) applied for and received state preservation funds to protect the Rumbaugh Creek bridge.
DES assisted the TOPS with engineering design and site mapping of the bridge area. DES also provided construction services in review of repair and restoration work. Although current hidden, the TOPS plans to bring the downtown riverwalk trail near Rumbaugh Creek bridge for people to see this historic structure.
