Dams
How do you store water?
Dam structures are used to provide storage of water for irrigation, commercial, domestic water or recreation. Jurisdictional dams are regulated structures and DES works with dam owners with design, improvements, and repairs.
If your existing earthen dam requires maintenance, monitoring or improvements these are items we can assist you with. We also have surveyors to assist in mapping your existing dam to provide detailed plans. We partner with a geo-technical consultant to assist in the evaluation of the dam structure or subsurface integrity. We can also assist you in developing an emergency action plan.
Areas we serve.
We have assisted clients with earthen dam structures in the state of Colorado and New Mexico. We have also provided our engineering services to state entities in managing existing dam structures.
Modeling for you with current software.
Our team stays current with use of water modeling software. We utilize computer programs such as the US Army Corp of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center – River Analysis Softare (HEC-RAS), Hydrologic Engineering Center – Hydrologic Modeling Software (HEC-HMS) for modeling flood and precipitation events. Our team attends training to stay current with changes in dam regulations and computer software modeling.
