The Town of Pagosa Springs (TOPS) Town to Lakes master trail plan provides connectivity from “uptown” to the downtown area. This project placed concrete for approximately 0.25 miles of the master trail plan and provided adjacent sidewalk.

DES provided site surveying and mapping services, both used for engineering design. DES also prepared easement maps for the proposed trail improvements that was used by the TOPS. DES provided engineering design of the multi-use trail and sidewalk. Design had to consider improvements within the CDOT right-of-way, improvements near wetlands and tying into existing electrical infrastructure for trail lighting. This project included concrete multi-use trail, concrete sidewalk, concrete curb and gutter, trail lighting, riprap drainage swale, drainage improvements, plantings and ADA ramps.

This project received federal funding, administered through the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). DES assisted the TOPS with engineering design and construction services to meet the requirements for federally funded projects.
